III US Armored Corps

III Armored Corps became XIX Corps and entered combat in Normandy in June 1944 commanded by Major General Charles H. Corlett. Gen. Corlett was returned to the States for medical reasons about August-September and was replaced by Major General Raymond S. McLain, who commanded the corps until VE-Day.
